If I want to talk about Palu, what comes to my mind as a travel photographer are the icons of the city of Palu, such as the yellow bridge, the single tree, and the floating mosque. With the assignment period of only 3 days, I would like to tell you about the impact of the tsunami and earthquake 4 years ago around the Floating Mosque. After the research process in the field and sharing, I got the fact that the most affected are fishermen who live on the coast around the mosque. One of them is Mr. Oda, a shrimp fisherman in Lere Village.
Mr. Oda, who had lived in a temporary residence for 4 years, is now back on the coast, his hometown. He lives and builds houses on other people’s land. His former house is now razed to the ground. While waiting for the government’s promise of permanent housing, he returned to sea to fulfill his daily needs.
